			Abstract:
»This paper proposes a discussion about the possible consequences for rape, as presented by Terence in the comedy The Eunuch, mainly in one of Pythias’ lines to Parmeno. For this purpose, some examples of representation of legal aspects that appear throughout the play have been chosen, in order to demonstrate that the resolution through the law would not be something foreign to the context. Then, the necessary conditions are presented for the configuration of this type of crime, especially regarding the position of women in society, a point of dispute throughout the dialogue. Finally, the testimonies that point to possible punishments for Chaerea’s act are indicated, which are in line with Pythias’ allusions, although not with the end of the play itself.«
